Former Ghanaian President, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings are in Brussels, Belgium to participate in the Crans Montana Forum on Africa. The four-day meeting under the theme, “Africa after the London & Pittsburgh G 20s: 
The New Economic Parameters”, is a forum for African as well as International Government Officials and Businesses to take the pulse of the most influential of Africa’s stakeholders. Former President Rawlings is Honorary Chair of the Forum and will oversee several of the meetings. He has also been nominated co-Chair of the Founding Meeting of the ‘Forum of New Leaders for Tomorrow’, which will be launched on Saturday April 10.

Crans Montana ForumWAM Brussels, 8th April 2010 (WAM) – Dr Abdualziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), called on governments and relevant regional and international organizations to immediately assist Africa in responding effectively to the serious challenges presented by the current global crisis by granting African countries more subsidies and financial aid, reducing or writing off their debts, ensuring strict control over spending, encouraging political and economic reforms and promoting good governance and accountability.
