His Excellency Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings and Mrs. Rawlings have congratulated Muslims on the occasion of the festival of sacrifice, Eid ul-Adha, which falls today.
President and Mrs. Rawlings said Eid ul-Adha represented a significant Islamic ideal that should be appreciated and respected by everyone.
“As we pray and offer gifts to our friends and neighbours, let us remember the poor and destitute. Let us put a smile on their faces today and pray for better days for them. For those who were unable to make the Hajj pilgrimage this year, we pray that they have the opportunity in the coming years.”
President and Mrs. Rawlings called on Muslims to pray for goodness, fortitude, and hope for Ghana and called on moderation during the celebration. They called on the youth to respect the sanctity of the occasion and celebrate in a solemn manner.
“Barka da sala to all,” President and Mrs. Rawlings said.
